Welcome to Reeth Athletic Club - Camping

Reeth Athletic Club
Founded in 1904, Reeth Athletic Club is the only remaining football team from the local village teams that existed in Swaledale and Arkengarthdale. The club purchased its current home pitch in 1922 and following on from their Centenary Celebrations in 2004 launched a project to replace the old wooden pavilion with a modern building and Multi Use Games Area. In 2011 the current sports facilities were officially opened by Robert Warren Miller, with ex-England footballer and Head Coach of England Under 21’s  Gareth Southgate attending on behalf of the Football Association. The FA and Sport England provided major funding for the facilities.
The club is situated next to the River Swale on the outskirts of Reeth in Swaledale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and is within walking distance of the start of the hill climb from Grinton to Robins Cross on the first day of the Tour. For those wanting to stay longer the local countryside with its pretty villages, lovely waterfalls, beautiful hay meadows with stone barns and drystone walls and vast upland moorland is the perfect place for walkers and cyclists.

Book now for a campsite that is surrounded by spectacular scenery and stunning panoramas. The camp site will open on Wednesday 2nd July 2014 and close on Monday 7th July 2014 for you to extend your stay and enjoy beautiful Swaledale.
We offer a large site within easy distance of the village of Reeth with good toilet and water facilities, including disabled, communal showers with disabled access and 2 individual showers (on a first come first served basis), free parking area for clients (1 car/MPV per pitch), and close proximity to the market towns of Richmond, Leyburn and Hawes.

Travelling to the Reeth Athletic Camping site could not be easier:
Our local airports are Durham TeesValley and Leeds/Bradford (approx. 1 hour), the nearest train stations are Darlington, Northallerton and Kirby Stephen (approx. 40 mins)
The nearest main road is the A1/A1(M), exiting at Scotch Corner, Catterick or Leeming.
Free on-site parking will be available for 1 car or MPV per pitch and this represents a massive advantage over people visiting only for the day of the race as parking within the area and Reeth itself will be very limited on the day.  For this reason alone we must insist on a 3 night minimum stay on the Reeth Athletic Camping site.
We look forwarding to welcoming  you to the Yorkshire Dales!
